Road motor vehicles provide us with valuable and irreplaceable services. However, it is important to realize that road transport, in addition to its advantages, also brings problems. The most serious problem is traffic accidents and their consequences on human lives, motor vehicles, and transport infrastructure. Motor vehicles also adversely affect the environment, particularly through their noise and harmful emissions. Many of these negative phenomena arise as a result of improper maintenance of motor vehicles. The good condition of these vehicles is largely due to skilled mechanics, who gain the foundations of their knowledge and skills in vocational training. The subject of Automobiles, which we will focus on in this textbook, is one of the main vocational subjects taught.
