Description
Devils, water sprites, witches, and wizards have inhabited the forests of Šumava since time immemorial. The wizard Bereš controlled both banks of the Boubín Stream, from Vimperk to Prachatice, connecting with mysterious forces and causing harm wherever he could. His wise and beautiful daughter Agnes settled on Dobiš Hill and brings fairy tales from the lonely places, farms, and villages, stories of the inhabitants of Šumava from times long past. The book is complemented by photographs of Šumava's nature and charming illustrations by Petr Štěpán.
