Description
A new and exceptional publication, BLACK COCKATOOS – in nature and human care, is now being released. Although we could quickly count the Czech owners of these parrots, the book should not be missing from the library of any breeder. The first part deals in detail with general questions regarding breeding facilities, nutrition and feeding, nesting boxes, the breeding process itself, artificial rearing of chicks, and also addresses keeping cockatoos as pets. All this information will certainly be useful not only to the owners of black cockatoos but also to breeders of any parrots who can draw from the interesting facts compiled. The second part introduces us in great detail to the individual species and subspecies of black cockatoos. Although there is practically no official Czech nomenclature for this group of cockatoos, the book also assists with nomenclature. The authors note, however, to strictly adhere to scientific names. There are numerous interesting facts about the lives of these parrots in their natural environment. The authors of the book, Neville and Enid Connors, have been successfully breeding and raising cockatoos for nearly 25 years, which certainly speaks to the quality of the publication. The book is richly illustrated with many interesting and high-quality photographs of black cockatoos both from captivity and from life in the wild...
