Description
The textbook is based on the RVP for basic education – Appendices regulating the education of students with mild intellectual disabilities. The introductory chapters are dedicated to educating about the universe, the planet Earth, its representation on maps, and an overview of continents and oceans. Subsequent chapters present the regions of the world in an engaging way, covering their social, economic, and environmental aspects. Each chapter begins with an illustration and a brief message about personalities who dedicated their lives to discoveries and exploring new countries. At the end, there is an interesting summary of the material, an overview of countries, and a glossary of terms encountered in the textbook. The textbook is richly equipped with drawings, photographs, and maps. The curriculum is designed to meet the expected outcomes in the form of competencies for students with mild intellectual disabilities as well.
