Thanks to the enormous sums he wins, aided by his whisperer, he becomes a person literally swept away by material luxury, wealth, and the apparent happiness that money brings. However, Alex soon realizes that such a prosperous life does not mean he can value himself or find his place in the world. The richer he becomes, the less grounded he is on the earth and among people. Peter Stoličný has stretched a metaphor in his "romaneto" that largely captures the present hedonistic world, craving superficial experiences.
