Description
In his new poetry collection, Petr Mikeš remains true to the laconic, compact, and expressive gnomic lyrical forms and miniatures that regularly appeared in his previous poetry books, Old House and Just Words. In them, as well as in Dual Home, he enjoys resorting to the classical form of haiku, which is characteristic of his work. The collection of lyrical notes and reflections indeed has a dual character. It contains reflections on the presence and irretrievably fading past moments, but also on the poet's dual home background of Olomouc and Prague, as well as the Czech space in confrontation with the Italian one, which he depicted, for example, in the book Venetian Illuminations preceding this volume of humble and quiet poetry.
