Description
A new three-part lyrical composition by the poet, musician, and occasional visual artist presents, in contrast to previous, "consoling, smoothly flowing poetic images" (Petr Andreas), known from Lorenc's collections The Homeless of the Soul, Sarcasms, etc., verses that are disillusioned and simultaneously significantly related to the unstable present, which pushes poetic principles and the ethos of beauty to the margins of attention. The title of the collection may be misleading at first glance, but that unexpected calm is not a reconciliatory acceptance of an aging man with the surrounding world, but a pause and gathering of strength before the storm that is at hand. The book is accompanied by an insightful afterword by Petr Andreas.
