Description
This Czech-language set contains 54 exercises in which children connect pictures with sounds. In the initial exercises, they identify objects by the sounds they make, then distinguish syllables and individual speech sounds. The most demanding exercises focus on understanding the sound structure of words. Alongside auditory perception, the exercises help develop speech, concentration and other skills essential for learning to read and write. The material was created in response to declining levels of auditory perception among preschool children and pupils at the beginning of their schooling. The school-age version of Pavučinka is too demanding for pupils with more serious difficulties, while only the initial exercises were suitable for preschool children. The exercises have a wide range of uses: in addition to preschool children, for whom they are primarily intended, they are suitable for primary-school pupils at risk of dyslexia, with speech or hearing impairments, and for pupils with intellectual disabilities. The exercises are designed to be enjoyable for children while preparing them for successful reading and writing.
