This first volume of a four-part series presents an inspiring collection of electronic circuits suitable for both amateur and industrial applications. The often ingenious and simple designs address problems frequently encountered in practice and offer a useful source of ideas for designers working in our geographical region. Although many such circuits can also be found online, searching for them unsystematically takes valuable time that could instead be used to develop an application. These collections provide a starting point for inspiration, with source references making it possible to pursue a subject directly. The author spent many years gathering circuits and used some of them in his own work. Those he considered especially interesting were published in Czech magazines, chiefly Sdělovací technika, Amatérské rádio, Praktická elektronika and KTE Rádio plus. With the permission of their editors, this book brings together selected articles published after 1990. Some have been partly revised to correct errors and inaccuracies in the texts and circuits, as well as information that had become outdated. The original sources include electronics magazines, application and design notes, data sheets for the components used, publications issued by their manufacturers and, naturally, the Internet. The circuits are arranged in thematic sections, although the classification was not always clear-cut, and the series is divided into four volumes so that readers can choose only the area that interests them. Some circuits are no longer current, yet they can still inspire related designs and solutions to other problems. The author does not guarantee the operation or stated parameters of the circuits, even where he has tested them, so anyone wishing to use them must verify them and make any necessary modifications themselves. Despite the advances in electronics and the possibilities offered by modern components such as single-chip microcomputers, this collection may still provide useful inspiration for solving practical problems.
