Bruno aneb O božském a přírodním principu věcí. Rozhovor – Schelling Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph (2022)

This Czech-language philosophical dialogue presents one of the works that challenge the easy classification of Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling among the leading figures of German classical philosophy or German idealism. Schelling appears here as a supreme Romantic and an outstanding continuation of the tradition of German mysticism and speculation. His creative peak is generally considered to be the period from around 1798, when he was 23 and published The Soul of the World, through the second half of the 1810s, when he wrote, among other works, Philosophical Investigations into the Essence of Human Freedom, Clara and various versions of The Ages of the World. Written in 1802, this work, especially when read together with the treatise-letter to Fichte, gives readers a greater opportunity than many of his other texts to experience the depth and, above all, the sincerity of the lofty speculation that Schelling, like Fichte, experienced as a path to genuine truth. As a young man, he bore witness to his insight and spent the rest of his life trying to formulate and communicate it in different ways.
