Description
The studies in this publication arise from the author’s ongoing work on Origen’s apology Against Celsus, in which Origen responds to criticism of the Christian religion by the Platonic philosopher Celsus, who was active at the end of the second century AD. In three studies, the author examines how Origen responds to slanders concerning Jesus’ illegitimate birth, refutes Celsus’s accusation that Christians practise magic, and, in contrast to Celsus’s portrayal of Jesus as a wandering beggar, attempts to interpret the philosophical dimensions of his story. The contents are in Czech.
