Description
In this Czech-language travel book, Tomáš Lachman describes a journey around Czechia lasting 66 days. Born in 1956, he trained as an electrician at Škoda, later graduated from a secondary technical school in Plzeň, where he eventually settled, and worked as a designer and electrician before becoming self-employed in 1997. From an early age, he has loved high-altitude hiking, running and mountaineering. He is also an active musician who most enjoys playing Irish music, blues and bluegrass on the violin. Married to Majka, he and his wife raised four daughters and a son. In recent years, they have spent their free time walking through Bohemia or travelling by scooter. As the foreword explains, travelling while allowing oneself the luxury of having time to notice everything and think quietly offers a chance to meet oneself anew and view one’s own life, the lives of others and the surrounding world from a different perspective. It brings inner peace and the broader outlook that is often so lacking in the Czech basin.
