Suddenly they realize that time is running out... The Message in a Bottle won the Harald Mogensen Prize, awarded for the best contemporary Danish crime novel. In 2010, it received the prestigious Glass Key literary award for the best Nordic detective novel (previous laureates of this award include Jo Nesbo, Stieg Larsson, and Henning Mankell). The Message in a Bottle also became the winner of the 2010 Readers' Prize, awarded annually by the Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende and the National Library Organization.
