Description

Psychiatrist Erik Maria Bark is a renowned expert in treating trauma through hypnosis. One December night, he is awakened by the ringing of his phone. Detective Inspector Joona Linna from a hospital in Stockholm is calling, asking him to come immediately to a case involving a young boy who is unconscious and in very critical condition. Erik is the only hope for the police to interrogate the boy and find out who brutally murdered his parents and younger sister. They hope to track down the killer and save his older sister before it's too late. However, Erik has not practiced as a hypnotist for ten years and is determined never to perform hypnosis again. The request for help awakens painful memories within him, and so Erik refuses the police's plea. But when Erik finally allows himself to be convinced, everyone suddenly finds themselves caught in a whirlwind of unexpected events. These events strike Erik's life with full force without warning. Erik's son goes missing. Erik is forced to confront his past and return in memories to the times when his professional life lay in ruins and his marriage was on the brink of collapse. Only then does he have a chance to save his son's life.
