Description

The book by photographers Petr Daniel and Pavel Šešulka (two experienced authors of the middle generation who have presented their work at exhibitions and in publications in recent years) along with another co-author known as Timo, who contributed his poetic street art, looks at contemporary Brno with both kindness and irony. It captures the everyday life and uniqueness of the city, its streets, buildings, nooks, but especially the people who live here. "I always try to photograph people in a way that respects their dignity, but with a certain distance and perspective over the hustle and bustle of life. Perhaps then photographs can emerge with humor or at least with a story and the possibility of reflection and contemplation," says Petr Daniel. The aim of the publication is not to "documentarily describe" what Brno looks like, but to convey the impressions and moods that together create the unmistakable atmosphere of this place. This certainly includes the original poetic forms of the young artist known as Timo, who enhances the streets of the city with his poetry. The book will be appreciated by all who have a personal connection to Brno; everyone who has a sensitivity to its unique atmosphere - Brno residents who have their city under their skin, students spending their school years here, visitors, as well as congress guests or trade fair participants...
