I have been growing medicinal plants in my garden for years, and the more heat-loving subtropical ones I have in a greenhouse that I managed to realize in December 2019. Subtropical plants have a tradition in our country since the Middle Ages, and due to warming, they can be grown in the southern corners of our republic and in gardens outside of greenhouses. I perceive medicinal plants primarily as helpers and friends from the plant kingdom, who help us maintain or improve our health. It is necessary to have an active approach and follow the third path to health. The first occurs during health difficulties when we rely on doctors. The second is sought out by healers. The third path means that we finally start doing something actively for our health ourselves. One option is to learn about and use medicinal plants — gifts from our Mother Earth, which she gives us with love. My wish is that through this book, my home herbal world becomes yours as well.
