I did not want to write or produce television and radio reports solely about the victims and the murderers. I longed to find the masterminds behind these crimes. I wanted to hear their opinions, their memories, their explanations. It was not just about Lidice or other villages with a similar fate, but about other cases of mass murders of people, such as when retreating German Nazis massacred over a hundred civilians just hours before the end of the war around Jihlava.
