Vinnetou naší doby - Velký tajem Staré lišky Báry Hrzánové – Erml Richard (2018)

Winnetou of our time is neither an acting monograph nor a theater study. It is not even a typical actor interview. The most accurate description would be a report of conversations held between two generational friends. They met long ago in an amateur theater, then their paths diverged. Bára Hrzánová became one of the most interesting acting personalities, while Richard Erml observed this from his position as an editor of Divadelní noviny. In the book, which is also a reflection of the times, other figures appear. Let’s give the floor to Vladimír Procházka, the director of the Činoherní klub, who also reminisced about Bára's father. About her, he says: "She acted with us in The Misanthrope and in Return to the Desert, and in both productions, she was exceptionally good. Of course, she has that Hrzán comedy style, but as I remember, she particularly impressed me with how she could analyze roles. Bára's mother probably instilled other genes in her daughter that happily coincided with those of Jirka. She is a comedian, but a clever comedian. And I’m not saying that Jirka Hrzán wasn’t clever, but for me, he was primarily an extraordinarily sensitive, nervous personality actor, while Bára has something more."
