Description
The fourth volume of Esoteric Bohemia deals with a landscape not often sought after by tourists, which, however, conceals monuments of astonishingly ancient cultures. The industrial landscape northwest of Prague paradoxically belongs to the most interesting places in Bohemia, where the mysterious past of our country is hidden. Today, the heavily devastated Kladno and Rakovník regions were, over the past centuries, the center of prehistoric power and especially a hub of unknown rituals. Sacred sites from the Stone Age overlap with the religious centers of the Celts. The center of the mysterious Knovíz culture is not far from the Celtic sanctuary in Mšecké Žehrovice or Vinařická hora, which could have been a prehistoric sacred mountain. In this landscape, we encounter most of the Czech megaliths, including the inexplicable stone rows in Kounov and Ledce. But time has not stood still here. These places also witnessed ancient Slavic settlements, including the residence of the prophetess and princess Libuše. Ancient spiritual traditions can also be found in the works of artists of our age. Everything here intertwines with everything. Hints of prehistoric symbols, Celtic magical rituals, the old faith of our ancestors, Christian traditions, and Jewish traditions create the esoteric landscape of this part of Central Bohemia.
