Description
The novel tells the story of two brothers. Adam, a young man and a lover of women, heavily influenced by his actress mother, who sees life as an entertaining game, confronts a world he does not understand. In the search for the identity of his mistress, we walk on the thin ice of truth and lies with the author. Simultaneously, the life story of the older brother, Rudolf, who lives for work and family as a factory director, unfolds. After his wife's confession of an affair with another man, he decides to grant her freedom and allow both her and himself to find happiness. The psychologically nuanced story of Rudolf's marriage and Adam's bizarre relationship with his mistress and mother is set against the backdrop of the contemporary business world, the environment of fading artistic glory, and the exotic color of Thailand, where Rudolf goes to seek his new happiness and identity. The life fates of both main and secondary characters, often shaken by doubts, float on the pillow of reality and grotesque, which may shock some weaker personalities if they do not accept the fact that life is just a probable and very successful game.
