Description
Eight stories of Czech partisans who participated in battles in the Italian mountains at the end of World War II. The book maps a little-known chapter in the history of Czech armed anti-fascist resistance. Among the partisans of various nationalities, who dealt a number of significant blows to Mussolini's army, the Czech component was unmistakably represented. In the overwhelming majority of cases, these were members of the government army of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, who defected to the side of the Allies during their deployment in Italy. The author narrates the stories of several of these individuals in an adventurous style. In the appendix, we find photographs and documentation related to the history of the Protectorate's government army.
