Description
This book is the very first monograph of an interesting artist of Ukrainian origin, who permanently settled in Prague in the early 1920s. After more or less episodic collaborations with the First Republic publishing houses J. R. Vilímek, Šolce and Šimáček, Rebec's publishing house, and several others, Wowk began to work closely with the Vršovice publishing house Toužimský & Moravec. He became an important core illustrator alongside painter Zdeněk Burian, and his drawings accompanied more than a hundred titles from the company. His illustrations for the Tarzan, Biggles, Nobody series, and Max Brand's westerns became legendary.
