Description
Pharmacotherapy remains one of the so-called ars medici in medicine. In recent years, we have witnessed the introduction and utilization of new diagnostic methods in gastroenterological practice. These new methods often allow not only for a more precise diagnosis of various diseases but also for the selection of the most effective and targeted pharmacotherapeutic approaches. In gastroenterology, pharmacotherapy plays a fundamental role among treatment methods. Therefore, there arose a need to elaborate on pharmacotherapeutic principles for both commonly known diseases and less frequent conditions in gastroenterological practice, such as certain pancreatic diseases or neuroendocrine tumors. This monograph is a selection of some areas of pharmacological treatment in gastroenterology and is intended for gastroenterologists, internists, geriatricians, and general practitioners.
