Different types of limb defects have varying pathophysiologies of their origin. This is also related to the fact that in diagnosis and treatment, we encounter various medical specialties that use different therapeutic approaches. Therefore, the aim of this book is to summarize the authors' own experiences and available facts about the current state of diagnosis and treatment of limb defects into a concise overview that can serve as a certain guide and recommendation for diagnosis and treatment. Given that this is a pathophysiologically heterogeneous group of diseases that manifest as defects, the authors have sought to bring perspectives from multiple specialties into the text, yet with a unified outcome in treatment. In line with modern trends aimed at shortening hospitalization, the treatment of defects in this work is focused on surgical solutions. Attention is particularly paid to causal treatment of venous and arterial defects and experiences in the treatment of neuropathic defects, which, although symptomatic, have been successful in recent years. The general principle of treatment should be to clarify the origin of the defect, provide adequate treatment with short hospitalization, good outcomes, and a low percentage of recurrences.
