Description
The age of the population is increasing, and along with this encouraging development, the incidence of certain diseases and conditions is also rising - among them urinary incontinence in women and disorders of the morphology and function of the pelvic floor. These have long represented an inspiring problem for generations of doctors, but it was not until the second half of the 20th century that conditions were created for their differential diagnosis and causal treatment. The aim of the authors of this monograph is to contribute to creating conditions for the active role of gynecologists, urologists, and all doctors addressing the issue of urinary incontinence in women, in establishing a diagnostic and treatment plan, and to raise their awareness of the algorithms used and current possibilities. The authors are leading experts who have contributed to the development of urogynecology in our country and have helped to enhance the good reputation of Czech medicine in this field on an international scale. Their clinical experience, based on the conclusions of current literature, allows for the formulation of logical conclusions applicable to everyday practice.
