Unrepeatable personalities do not only live in the wilderness of Šumava. They are much closer to us, we encounter them on the streets, in buses, anywhere. Perhaps someone like that lives right in the neighboring apartment building. Certainly, every person is unique, but - it is undeniable - some people are simply more unique. What connects the seven people whose stories have been gathered in this book? It is not directly solitude like that of hermits who have withdrawn from civilization into forests, swamps, and mountains. However, a certain distance can still be found here. "I wouldn't have the strength to go with the flow, and certainly not against it," says one of them. They have all created a small personal world, a fascinating universe where their own rules apply. They are within reach of others, yet so far away. Or perhaps high up? Some of their stories are incredible, but the author of the book believes them.
