Description
The author of the bestseller Rat Path, the son of Jewish parents, reconstructs the personal and intellectual genesis of two men who were at the origin of the ideas of genocide and crimes against humanity, both of whom, unbeknownst to each other, studied at the same university under the same professors in Lviv, a former significant cultural center of Europe. The story is also a remembrance of the author's grandfather, Leon Buchholz, who maneuvered through Europe in the face of Nazi atrocities. The book was awarded the Baillie Gifford Prize for outstanding work in nonfiction.
