Description
A short gripping story by Elena Ferrante, the author of the Neapolitan quartet, is thematically connected to her other novel The Lying Life of Adults. Ferrante develops the motif of the lost doll Celina, which was left by a little girl named Mati at the beach at the end of the day to face her fate. Mati received a kitten, and Celina feels betrayed and abandoned. At night, she experiences incredible, often frightening and mysterious adventures, feeling fear and experiencing jealousy. With the sunrise, however, she realizes that nothing is as it seemed the previous day. The book is richly illustrated by Mara Cerri, one of the most sought-after European illustrators, who regularly collaborates with newspapers and magazines.
