Description
It follows Mussolini. The Son of the 20th Century. The second part of the detailed chronicle of fascism in Italy is viewed from the perspective of Mussolini himself and other protagonists of the movement, just like the first part. It takes place between 1925 and 1932, during a period when Mussolini becomes the darling of the nation and a respected international politician. The novel reflects the events of the time after overcoming the great crisis triggered by the assassination of socialist MP Matteotti. As Prime Minister, Mussolini energetically controls the entire parliament and builds a totalitarian state according to his vision. His popularity among the people grows, and Pope Pius XI even refers to him as 'the man whom providence itself has given us.' However, this is not enough for the leaders of the fascist movement. There can now be no doubt that Scurati will literarily cover the entire era of Mussolini until the end. This is what gives this work its significance.
