Description
The ripening of stones, the ripening of a person, but also the ripening of a poet. All of this can be found in this collection, which Josef Tomáš presents as his poetic beginnings. He began writing only at the age of forty-seven while in exile in Australia. His verses reflect a sensitive look into the inner self of a person who sometimes painfully realizes their loneliness, transience, and finiteness, but also resonates with nature and the things to which he breathes life and soul. This poetry was written by a poet, perhaps ripening, but certainly already endowed with considerable life wisdom.
