Description
A novel about two brothers whose wives were close friends before marriage. Filip is a photographer and has two children with Olina. His marriage functions, as it usually should, but it is more or less a superficial relationship. The older brother, Zbyšek, is more thoughtful, continuing the family tradition of violin making, and is raising Filip's son Ondřej from his first marriage, even though it is a significant disruption to his life with Viola. In reality, however, they are troubled by the fact that they do not have children themselves, and when Viola becomes pregnant, anonymous letters awaken suspicion and jealousy in Zbyšek.
