Description
This Czech-language novel follows seventeen-year-old YouTuber Cali as she prepares for her final exams and deals in her own way with the popularity and constant scrutiny that come with social media. No one has taught her how to cope with always being watched, what she can share without revealing too much, or how to control the image her videos create. While her mother shares almost everything and relies on videos, collaborations, advertisements and events to support the family, Cali tries to preserve at least a little privacy. She is in love with the equally successful YouTuber Gerard and enjoys a privileged lifestyle, yet feels deep down that something is missing. Then she meets Héctor, an ordinary boy from a children’s home who is trying to find his family and his place in life. Through him, Cali gradually discovers that her own values have changed and begins to see a completely different world.
