Description
Lord of the World (1362 - 1378) In the third book of the historical saga, Charles's first empress, Anna of Swidnica, dies prematurely. He struggled for a long time to recover from the loss of his beloved wife, and by marrying his fourth wife, Elisabeth of Pomerania, the granddaughter of the Polish king, he was merely trying to resolve the tense political situation in Poland and Hungary, where Casimir and Louis were left without male heirs. Although Charles initially despised Elisabeth, Providence opened his eyes, and he later appreciated her qualities and abilities. From their happy marriage, daughters and sons are born, who will inherit the Polish-Hungarian legacy. Charles's second Roman expedition provides Elisabeth with satisfaction: she alone in Rome received the crown of empress from the hands of the pope himself. A brilliant future opens up for the Luxembourg dynasty on the Czech throne, and Charles IV is rightly considered the lord of the world, who can intervene in events across Europe, but as a wise ruler, he seeks allies to address the crisis of the once-unified Christianity, shaken by dissatisfaction with the ills in the church. This led to his last great journey to Paris to the French king. Through his ruling deeds, Charles touched the heavens to help Christianity here on earth. The saga's plot continues to this day...
