Description
Three humorous novels by Jan Šmíd about pure joys (The Pure Joys of My Life, The Return of Pure Joys, The Valley of the Purest Joys) are narrated by traveling salesman Nat Jessel. On his journeys through the rural settlements of Arizona and Utah, he is accompanied by a lioness named Eileen. He experiences incredible adventures with her, which he recounts with a distinctive sense of humor. Eileen rewards him for that wonderful free life by becoming not only an advertisement for his goods but also helps Nat choose the right woman for life. In the next installment, the self-taught Nat gets divorced, raises his daughter alone, and seeks happiness in the Canadian wilderness, but in the third book, he finds his purest joys again by the side of the woman he has loved his whole life.
