The reader is divided into ten thematic units, characterized not only by the thematic area but also by a dominant focus on a specific genre. For example, the thematic unit In the World of Wisdom is dominated by the genre of fable, while the thematic unit In the World of the Unholy features classic fairy tales. This way, students naturally acquire knowledge of basic genres corresponding to their age and reading interests and learn to read them appropriately. The reader does not merely represent a selection of suitable texts; it also offers supplementary questions, tasks for reflection, and interesting information alongside the texts. The texts are worked with in more detail in the workbooks. Secondarily, the reader contributes to comprehensive education, specifically to the development of competencies beyond communication skills. Notably, the reader contributes to environmental, civic, informational, and media education. In the media area, it pays particular attention to advertising communication, but consideration for media is present throughout all chapters, assuming that students will work with various media when solving tasks and use them appropriately.
