Recent History: This publication is the last part of a four-volume series of textbooks for four-year gymnasiums. It is developed according to the curriculum for four-year gymnasiums. However, it can also be applied in other types of schools, as the textbooks graphically distinguish between basic explanations and supplementary texts. Given the layout of the curriculum with an emphasis on recent history, it also allows for good preparation for studies at humanities-type universities. A significant quality of the series is its lack of overload with facts and, above all, the parallel presentation of general and national history from ancient times to the present. The textbooks contain rich visual material, numerous historical maps, and appropriate didactic apparatus. For the lower grades of multi-year gymnasiums, we recommend a similar series for the prima to quarta grades. Only one textbook is designated for each grade. All these textbooks have the approval clause from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
