This Czech-language workbook is designed as a companion to Reader 3, forming an integrated whole with it. It supports the expected learning outcomes and the development of key competencies through varied tasks and exercises for both confident and less experienced readers. Through the instructions, solutions and the “bookworm Emil’s tips”, children learn more about reading and literature. The workbook presents different ways of working with the textbook’s extracts, including practising difficult words, developing accurate and fluent reading, and, above all, reading comprehension. The exercises check whether pupils have understood the text and know how to work with it. Encouraging reading for enjoyment is the workbook’s main purpose.
