The first part of the full-color workbook from the new series for education according to the RVP contains a clear introduction to the topic of natural numbers and further deals with numbers and digits from 1 to 5 (comparison, addition, subtraction, writing practice), and also includes exercises and applications of the material. The textbook Mathematics and Its Applications 1 is divided into three parts of 64 pages each, complemented by three workbooks and a digit writing book. Not only the workbooks but also the textbook is material that children interact with in a lively working context. Each page of the textbook Mathematics and Its Applications 1 presents a colorful and varied space that children engage with: they color, paint, later write, and complete various tasks. Through pictures and activities, they verify their mathematical intuitions, learn basic relationships, and naturally apply them. At a time when children can already read simple instructions on their own, they can discover them in the textbook. The teacher has a set of instructions for each exercise prepared at the bottom of each page. A fundamental feature of the textbook is the natural division into themes that are close to children – thus, children acquire an understanding of mathematical relationships in a familiar environment and immediately apply them naturally (e.g., themes Home, In the Forest, By the Water, Preparation for…
