Description
The story takes place in the territory of Bohemia in the early twelfth century. Two alchemists arrive at the residence of a wealthy nobleman, a participant in the First Crusade. Their main interest is working on the discovery of the Philosopher's Stone, but they are also engaged in casting horoscopes and are invited by their host to produce gold. The more or less peaceful coexistence of the scholars with the estate owner and other inhabitants of the manor is abruptly ended by a sudden turn of events. It is revealed that despite the mysterious demeanor of the guests, they are not quite father and son. The idyllic period must be forgotten, and an unequal struggle for survival begins. The consequences of the revelation are fatal. Social and religious dogmas come into play, and the verdict is unexpectedly harsh. Although the sentence is not carried out to the full extent, the toll is tragic. People die, and the survivors are not who they once were. Yet hope remains...
