Letmé polibky nebes – Svoboda Ivan (2021)

The stories seem simple, uncomplicated, without grand images of star wars, drastic conflicts with alien monsters, and depictions of countless technical inventions of a distant future. With a certain exaggeration, one could say it's a pleasant Sunday idyll on a pond dam, with the buzzing of bees in the treetops and fluffy clouds in a cobalt blue sky. However, this holds true only until our 'ordinary hero' finds himself in harsh confrontations with mysterious forces of the cosmos, regardless of whether the drama unfolds on a very distant planet or just in Prague, somewhere in Hostivař or Horní Počernice. The idyll ends, and a tough struggle for survival begins. And despite all the hardships, horrors, and hopelessness, as is often the case in the Czech Republic, light hints of sarcastic humor and irony penetrate the complicated events like a universal remedy for many human troubles. Each of the seven chapters of the book 'LET ME KISSES OF HEAVEN' carries a certain mystery that needs to be deciphered and placed in the appropriate context, shedding light on the problem as rationally as possible. The conclusion is inevitably approaching, yet the solution remains elusive. Something is amiss, obstructing, disturbing, which even a very attentive reader might overlook.
