The idea to compile and publish an anthology of poems to help victims of domestic violence was born from a simple electronic correspondence between two childhood friends, united by both a love for literary creation and an unfortunate personal experience with domestic violence. From the initial idea to realization, three long years of ups and downs, hopes, and near successes passed. Editor and author Natálie Nera assembled the book to be as pleasant to read as possible, ensuring that the rhythm of the arranged poems did not disrupt the flow and that everyone could find something that resonates with them. Words can not only hurt but also uplift. Even those who grimace at the word 'poetry' because they remember their school lessons, where they had to invent what the poet meant, seek and find comfort and answers in it during times of great life stress - during breakups, divorces, family deaths, weddings, births... It is time to remember that words are not just an academic exercise for theoretically prepared scholars, but that they have something to offer everyone willing to look and listen.
