Description
The author of the book, Zdeněk Bláha, is a prominent figure in West Bohemian folklore, a witness and native of Horní Bříza, an excellent musician and arranger of folk songs, a radio editor at Czech Radio in Plzeň, and the founder of the Folklore Ensemble Úsměv. In his stories, he engagingly and kindly narrates about village life, customs, musicians, personalities, and ordinary people. He describes and documents times long past, not only the everyday way of life in Horní Bříza but also in the broader area of northern Plzeň. This book also connected the long-standing friendship between Zdeněk Bláha and artist Jaroslav Lang, who accompanied the book with his illustrations.
