Description
"Were there five of us? No, two," recalls Mr. Stilbury's House about childhood lived with a younger sister in the family of an actress and a writer. Partly in the style of Škvorecký's humorous book From the Life of the Better Society, the boy keeps a diary, which is the first part of the House. Only the second part will illuminate what allowed the idyll. Who writes our lives alone, devotedly, and right inside the magical house? Yes, Mr. Stilbury... Ivo Fencl worked as a teacher and surveyor, wrote over 440 articles and short stories for the newspaper Neviditelný pes and others for Plž, published the first Czech biography of R. L. Stevenson (book form 2012) in the magazine Tvar (about 150 contributions) for one year, and the biography of O. Neff effectively became the extensive book Royal Entertainment (2010). He conducted a number of interviews with prose writers and painters, prepared programs about Charms, Prutkov, and Wittlin, and wrote 11 books.
