Description
This revised mathematics textbook for the ninth year of Czech primary school forms part of an updated series. It corresponds more closely to the Czech Framework Educational Programme, includes more current information and is made more engaging through a new graphic design, while retaining the original series’ overall concept. The material is updated with familiar real-life contexts, including payment for purchases and changing prices, and includes new exercises showing the importance of mathematics in everyday life and encouraging pupils to complete tasks and search for information. Non-standard application exercises and problems have been expanded, including activities developing geometric imagination and combinatorial thinking. Many exercises invite pupils to consider environmental issues such as energy-saving light bulbs and smoking. The greatest changes concern the visual presentation: the textbook is in colour and includes photographs of real objects and situations, along with witty and motivating colour illustrations.
