However, a virus infiltrates this reality and, in the form of a Beast, is capable of killing people in real life, triggering a global crisis. Virtual detective Torkil Aymore attempts to resolve the situation under dramatic circumstances and at the risk of his own life. This, however, requires fierce battles fought in both the real world and virtual reality. Unlike the first part, which was essentially a chain of short stories, this is a cohesive novel.
