Description
The second edition of a long-out-of-print book, which the author, a professor at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Prague, aptly summarizes in his preface as follows: Why does God descend? Because the message of God who bends down, indeed descends to man, is what I consider the main thread that runs through the entire Bible and most clearly and deeply connects the Old and New Testaments. This is what distinguishes the Bible from other sacred books, which mostly advise people on how to either get to heaven to God or gods, or how to arrange heaven on earth, perhaps only in the human soul. This is, in short, the main result of my work with the Bible, which I have had the privilege of dedicating myself to for forty years at the Evangelical Theological Faculty and in the church.
