More than forty years old, the unpublished habilitation thesis by J. Šiklová is dedicated to the timely phenomenon of the socially critical student movement in Western Europe and North America, whose relevance has faded, yet at least to some extent, it reappears in current protests against 'global capitalism.' The book consists of three parts - the author's introduction from today's perspective, the extensive main text, and an epilogue by Marek Skovajsa, which both 'recontextualizes' the text and offers a portrait of Jiřina Šiklová from the sixties to the present day. Skovajsa cultivates and enriches the text in this regard without detracting from its original character.
