The eighth volume of the edition intended for schools and the public is dedicated to the reign of the significant Enlightenment monarch - Joseph II. Through the storytelling of a retired historian to two neighboring children, you will learn, among historical facts about Joseph, snippets from his life, the lives of family members, and contemporary figures. The text is accompanied by colorful and cheerful illustrations. At the end, you can test your acquired knowledge in a humorously themed quiz. The edition is approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as a teaching aid for teaching local history in elementary schools. In a series of ten booklets, individual stages of Czech history are presented in an unconventional form, almost like a detective story, narrated by a historian to two children of different ages. Their curious questions allow for a confrontation of contemporary youth thinking with historical facts, comparing the present with the past in various aspects of human activity (housing, clothing, food, diplomacy, etc.).
