Description

Arresting and convicting the perpetrator of a murder is a tough job even for homicide experts. Sometimes they face a lack of usable evidence from the crime scene, unwillingness of witnesses to testify, reluctance to testify in court, and other unpredictable circumstances. The worst of all is betrayal from within, the pressure from corrupt superiors whose vision of easy profit has clouded their judgment, erasing basic principles of decency and correctness. This was also the case with two murders that seemingly had no connection. An unknown shooter executed the district prosecutor in his bed at home, and two days later, a candidate for mayor of a peripheral city district. The corruption scandal surrounding the murdered prosecutor will take clearer shape only when detectives manage to find the well-hidden prosecutor's assistant. From her interrogation, the investigation will take a new direction that the homicide detectives must keep secret from their superiors. The suspicion that someone from above is watching their every move and trying to manipulate them will grow into certainty. Detective Richard Krauz from the homicide department suspects that a direct strike against the corrupt officials will be quite challenging, and solving the mystery of the two brutal murders will be painful.
