Description

The early nineties were a hectic period not only in the homicide department but in society as a whole. What was happening in Our City was automatically registered by detectives, and not only did they register it, but they also solved, investigated, and interrogated. The rookie Richard Krauz became an independent detective, and together with his partner Jozef Fischer, known as Chosé, they tackled one case after another. This particular case occurred in the spring of 1994 – on the banks of the Morava River, at the level of the 4-kilometer milestone, two youths found a partially buried, partially decayed corpse of a man. Nothing unusual; it could have peacefully ended up in the crematorium, and the state could have paid for it – but it shouldn’t have had a regular circular hole with a diameter of 9 mm in the middle of its forehead. One glance was enough for the two detectives to realize that it wasn’t caused by a drill, but by a bullet cast in the shape of a sphere. However, they would only find out from which gun it was fired and whose hand held it at that moment after a long investigation. The boys from the murder squad would sweat it out because they knew nothing about either the murderer or the victim. The dead guy was missed by no one. They didn’t even know that the circular hole in the middle of the forehead would soon become a symbol of settling scores in the underworld, which was just beginning to take shape.
